Tell us about your upstart business: I started Mission Inc. because I had a knack for helping nonprofit organizations and start up businesses find much needed start up capital, and wanted to have the freedom to provide those services to a wider market. Traditionally consulting firms go after organizations that can pay top dollar for their services.
I believe that all businesses deserve the opportunity to perform at their highest level. My services are provided at trade and on a sliding fee scale.
How are you funding your Upstart?: Personal Savings, Investors

What do you see in the future for your upstart? I see a tremendous need for our services as the economy worsens and funds become tighter.
How has the current economy affected your upstart? It hasn't as of yet, but I think that has to do with the type of planning and creative strategy that goes into our work. We help others to not experience this...so we have to set the example.
Recommended services / advice: Don't downplay the importance of making things legal, putting all of the governance mechanisms in place, and getting creative with your strategy. The businesses that are now facing the toughest times are the ones that didn't. It would be wise while you are in the early stages to learn from their mistakes and start off right.
